These are the demos of the Summer of Snakes album. Or, at least, these are demos that sounded interesting upon creation as alternate universe versions of the songs from Summer of Snakes. I was imagining the lives these ideas could have dreamt at their inception and created fleshy replicants of their idealized proto-forms. Like, if the actual demos of these songs had dreams of their doppelgangers while my laptop was asleep or they lie dormant on old hard drives.

The album art is the concept drawing I never gave Persona La Ave. The songs are named with imagined scenarios and real world references to the people, places, and things that may or may not have influenced the song, but at least feel like the alternate reality naming convention I might have used if I was actually a productive person. I'm trying to be a productive person. I recorded every one of these as fast as possible and now it is one year since Summer of Snakes came out, on the nose, and so, yeah, a period piece. A demo of a finished album.
